REJECT SONG*
(Sung to the tune of "I Want a Girl Just Like the Girl Who Married Dear Old Dad.")

I want a crab, just like the crab
that married dear old Dad.
She was a nag, but the only crab
that Daddy ever had.
A good old fashioned crab
with heart so blue.
If you were bad, she'd snap the heck out of you...
I want a crab just like the crab
that married dear old Dad.

The Sign Song**
(Sung to the tune of "Notre Dame Fight Song")

We are the crabs from Winchester Bay.
We're glad to see you
hope you can stay.
How did you get here we want to know?
Cause there's no signs to show you where to go...

County Commissioner's don't understand
They know the way here, you all be damned.
We're all glad you found your way.
to Winchester Bay today.

We've got the sunshine, we've got the sand.
We've got the TUNA, all you can can.
Salmon, crab, and lots of fun.
To Winchester Bay, let's run!

The Crab Song
(Sung to the tune of "Don't Fence Me In")

Oh give me crab, lots of crab under foggy skies above.
Winchester Bay.
We can fish, we can sail in the ocean that we love,
Winchester Bay!
We can ride though the dunes in our ATV's,
Eat lots of salmon, crab and great ice cream.
Camp by the ocean or the forest green.
Winchester Bay
Or send the kids with a pail and shovel to the beach below oh oh
Or climb the stairs to the light house and see the sunset glow.
A walk around Lake Marie can be so inviting
Deer and elk and birds at play are so exciting.
A million dollar memory that's so enticing
Winchester Bay.

**This song was written as a serious-joke. The WBMA tried to find out what it would take to have Winchester Bay mentioned on Highway Signs leading to the area (HOW did you find your way here??).  We were told by everyone involved that it would be too expensive to change existing signs - and Winchester Bay isn't a "real" town anyway.  It feels real to us!

A small group of local trouble-makers thought it would be funny to stand on the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 38 in Reedsport with a sign reading "Where is Winchester Bay?"  Have photos taken and mailed to everyone involved with Highway signs. In the process of these brain-storming sessions The Sign Song was written - and history is made!  ;  )
