Balloons take to the air in Lakeside Oregon - a small community just south of Winchester Bay.

Construction of Heceta Head Lighthouse (located north of Florence, Oregon) was completed in 1894. It took nearly two years to build, and it cost $180,000.00. That was quite a large sum at that time. Rock from the Clackamas River, near Oregon City, was shipped to the site. Bricks and cement came from San Francisco. Wood from Oregon lumber mills was rafted to the cove below Heceta Head.
